Dr. Luitjohan is a chiropractic physician with many years experience in the field. He has been in practice in Colorado the last 5+ years before moving back to the St. Louis area to be closer to family.
Dr. Luitjohan has special training including Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT®), the Chiropractic Hand and Foot Clinics of North America, The McKenzie Institute for Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) for low back pain, physiotherapy, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), certified as a Medical Examiner by the FMCSA to provide department of transportation medical certifications, Mastering Brain & Blood Chemistry through Apex Energetics, TMJ analysis, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), kinesiotaping and is certified in Active Release Techniques (ART®).
Dr. Luitjohan and his wife, Courtney, and their two children, Josephine and Donovan, love spending time outdoors camping, hiking, skiing, playing soccer, basketball, racquetball, golf and frisbee golf. As the youngest of 6 children, Dr. Luitjohan prides himself on collaborating well with patients to work towards a common goal and achieving patient centered care. Dr. Luitjohan says "As a health care practitioner, chiropractor and movement medicine provider, I see all walks of life; however, I specialize in working with active populations. I always educate patients through active rehabilitation and exercises that will improve their function, reduce the frequency they need to see a provider and also prevent injury or reoccurrence of an injury. Active populations doesn't necessarily mean athletes. Active may be someone who has been sedentary but has the current drive and motivation to BE moving more and moving better. It is this desire to adhere to exercise prescription as well as being personally accountable for daily movement that progresses a patient's condition. Additionally, I enjoy working with pregnant mothers and guiding them through the ever-changing process of child bearing. As a father of two and experienced clinician, I have worked with a plethora of conditions and situations that arise during pregnancy and enjoy making it as enjoyable as possible."
Dr. Luitjohan practiced at Live Your Life Chiropractic in Erie, CO prior to his recent move to Missouri. Here is just one of the many google reviews that helped aid in our decision that he was a good fit for OPC.
"I am very picky about who works on my neck and back. When I came back to
the Front Range from the mountains, I tried several chiropractors who did not
work well with my temperamental back and left me with increased pain.
I asked friends for recommendations and Dr Josh came highly recommended.
He absolutely lived up to the hype. I am happy to drive 25 miles to see a
doctor who listens to my concerns and leaves my back happy." - J.B. June
